Thirty-five commercial banks under Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) at a function on Wednesday provided 25,95,000 pieces of blankets to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund during the upcoming winter.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina virtually joined the function through a videoconference from her official residence Ganobhaban. On behalf of the Prime Minister, Principal Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus received the donations.

Among the banks, Islami Bank (Bd.) provided 200,000 pieces of blankets, while Dutch-Bangla Bank, Exim Bank, National Bank and United Commercial Bank donated 150,000 pieces each and First Security Islami Bank 125,000 pieces, and IFIC Bank and Prime Bank 100,000 pieces each.
