Shwapno purchasing vegetables from distressed farmers in Northern Bangladesh

Retail Shopping Chain Shwapno is purchasing extra Winter vegetables to support distressed farmers of Thakurgaon, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Rangpur and Bogura.

Winter vegetables remain untouched on lands and are being wasted or thrown away due to lack of sales during this winter. A dozen workers from Shwapno are regularly buying vegetables in these areas under the supervision of the brand’s head of purchase Sajjadul Haque, and CSR and farmers’ welfare officer Shariful Islam.

Fresh vegetables bought from the regions are now available at Shwapno outlets.
