Pathao, Apex ensures lives of 50 Transgender people with TransEnd

Pathao, in collaboration with Apex, have collaborated to create job opportunities for transgender and specially-abled individuals under the slogan, ‘Shadhinota Shobair’, with the support of TransEnd.

They will work as delivery persons to earn a respectable living through Pathao Food, the company said in a press release on Monday.

To provide seamless service to the customers, they are being equipped with smartphones, bicycles, and ID cards.

Pathao, a leading ride-sharing, e-commerce and food delivery platform in Bangladesh, and Apex, one of the leading footwear brands, organised a programme at the Justice Shahbuddin Ahmed Park at Gulshan in Dhaka yesterday.

Atiqul Islam, mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and Asaduzzaman Noor, MP and eminent cultural personality, were present at the programme as chief and special guests respectively. Syed Nasim Manzur, managing director of Apex Footwear, and Fahim Ahmed, president of Pathao, were also present.

TransEnd is a social welfare organisation that empowers the transgender community through education, training, employment and entrepreneurship. Founded by Lamea Tanjin Tanha in 2019, the organisation primarily arranges social awareness campaigns and programmes, educating people on the gender spectrum.
