On June 3, Footstep Bangladesh, a well-known next-generation organization, began a campaign to generate funds for the deployment of 100 oxygen cylinders to solve the Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh’s southwestern and northern bordering areas.

According to a news statement published yesterday, organizations such as Robi, BURO Bangladesh, United Group, Lalteer Seeds Ltd, and hundreds of contributors have contributed to the fundraising drive to guarantee the campaign meets its goal.

In just two weeks of operation, the campaign has earned enough money to purchase 114 oxygen cylinders.

In Satkhira, 45 oxygen cylinders have been deployed to cover all Upazilas, while in the northern districts of Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Kurigram, and Thakurgaon, 40 cylinders and one oxygen concentrator have been deployed.

In the following days, at least 29 additional oxygen cylinders will be placed between Jessore and Kushtia, according to the statement.

Footsteps is providing vital oxygen assistance for Covid-19 patients in the specified districts in collaboration with local partners such as Uttaran, Its Humanity Foundation, and its own local teams.
