bKash distributes ‘Mujib’ graphic novels in 45 schools of Mymensingh

The book was distributed to 45 schools in Mymensingh as part of a program to distribute 20,000 copies of graphic novel 'Mujib' across the country to inspire school students in the ideals of Bangabandhu

On the occasion of Mujib’s centenary celebrations and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence, bKash and Bishwo Shahitto Kendro has taken initiative to distribute this book in 500 schools across the country.

The Center for Research and Information (CRI) has published an eight-volume graphic novel ‘Mujib’ based on the unfinished autobiography of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, an organization for building enlightened people, is distributing books in schools with support from bKash. Following the publication of the later volumes of ‘Mujib’, bKash will similarly expand the program by reaching out to more schools through the Bishwo Shahitto Kendro.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Haque and Bikash’s EVP and Head of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs Humayun Kabir handed over the books to the school representatives at Mymensingh District Shilpakala Academy auditorium. Presided over by eminent cultural personality and writer Khairul Alam Sabuj, the function was also attended by Mymensingh City Corporation Secretary Rajib Kumar Sarkar and Biswasahitya Kendra Joint-Director (Program) Mesbah Uddin Ahmed Sumon.

The graphic novel “Mujib” depicts the direct experience of Bangabandhu’s childhood, adolescence, social and political activities in a suitable format for children and adolescents with a perfect combination of dialogue, prose and painting.

Each of the 45 schools in Mymensingh has been given 5 sets and a total of 1600 copies of books. Earlier, 5400 copies of ‘Mujib’ novel were distributed in 135 schools of Dhaka, Rajshahi and Barisal divisions.
