Believing that women need to be empowered and equipped with the same opportunities that men enjoy in terms of access to fundamental rights, IDLC in partnership with Prothom Alo Trust and Asian University for Women (AUW) initiated a scholarship program titled “IDLC Oditiya” in 2018 to support the education of underprivileged female students who are first in their family to attain university-level education. Under this initiative, each year 10 students receive a 4-year scholarship to pursue a bachelor’s degree at Asian University for Women. Currently, more than 36 students are receiving a scholarship under this initiative.

IDLC has been working for the development of underprivileged people. Same as IDLC, Prothom Alo Trust is also doing the same. So they both teamed up with AUW, which is working for the education and empowerment of women.

From the year 2016, the IDLC Oditiya scholarship has been awarded to 10 female students to pursue their higher education. Till now 76 students have received this scholarship who were the first in their families to attend university.

In an interview with CSR Window Khandker Nagib Anwar, Deputy Group Head of Digital Assets & CSR, IDLC Finance Limited says, ” We try to design our CSR project in such a way to make all the projects sustainable and beneficial for the long run. The Oditiya is no exception and we are inspiring women for the last six years.”

IDLC is empowering underprivileged female students to achieve their dream through the Oditiya project. For more inspiring CSR stories shared by corporates, check out our Youtube Channel.
